The first step if you are self funded would be to approach the DSS because there are non-means tested available for people who require residential care. We recommend you take advice from the DSS or your local Citizens Advice Bureau. Specific advice can be obtained from Help the Aged.
Our fee structure is very simple, everyone pays the same amount as each other. The only difference is ensuite rooms and standard. In this case our prices are the local authority rate. We find it unfair and immoral that someone paying for their own care should pay more than if the government pays. We do not apply top ups or any other increments, and the only difference in pricing is between ensuite and standard rooms.
Certain activities and outings (ie hair dressing and some outings) may incur a minimal charge just to cover costs. All of the care at Charnley House is included in the weekly price, and prices include meals, cleaning, laundry services, etc.
