The home is located in Hyde in Tameside, which in turn is a part of Greater Manchester.

There is a fabulous site about the history of Hyde which is definitely worth a read if you’re interested in the history of the local area.

Hyde town center offers a weekly Market, and daily stalls are usually on.  There is a large undercover shopping area about 20 minutes walk from Charnley House, as well as a large Asda.  There is a variety of shops, from chemists, news agents, clothes shops to jewellers.

There are a variety of local pubs and restaurants, some within easy walking distance, as well as a large library.

We are near enough on the canal which makes for some very pleasant walks around the surrounding country side.

We are 10 minutes walk from Hyde Central railway station, the 330 bus route is easily accesible.  We are 10 minutes drive from the M67, and 15 minutes from Stockport and the M60.  It is easy to get into Manchester city center on the train, and Manchester Airport is about 20 minutes away.

There are plenty of taxi firms and we are easily accesible with the Ring and Ride service.
